SMD know as Surface Mounted Devices and cob is chip on board. The differences between SMD AND COB are as follows: First, The production efficiency of SMD is lower. COB is more efficient than SMD. Second, There are spot light and glare for smd. Cob have more wider view angle and they are easy to adjust, there is no point of light, glare etc. Third, the thermal resistance of cob is much less than smd chip which help improve the light of the led.

3.Are COB LED strips waterproof?
The cob led strip also can make waterproof, we advice with silicon tube waterproof for them.
4. How long do Cob Lights last?
LED can be used more than 50 000hours and with good environment like very cool working temperature our light can work 100 000 hours. The reason why the leds why can work very long is that they don’t cause the problem of filament fusing. They won’t stop working directly but they will gradually degrade over time.
